বিঘা, কাঠা, শতক, ছটাক ইত্যাদি জমি পরিমাপের এককগুলির নাম
প্রায় সকলেই অল্পবিস্তর শুনেছেন, কিন্তু এক বিঘা বা এক কাঠা জমি বলতে প্রায়
কতটা জায়গা বোঝায় সেটা ধারণা করা অনেকের পক্ষেই মুশকিল। কারণ ছোটবেলা থেকে
আমরা দৈর্ঘ্য বা প্রস্থ পরিমাপের ক্ষেত্রে মিটার, সেন্টিমিটার, ফুট
ইত্যাদি এককগুলোই বেশি ব্যবহার করে আসছি। আর তাই এই এককগুলোর সম্বন্ধে একটা
স্পষ্ট ধারণাও রয়েছে, যেমনঃ ১ ফুট বলতেই পড়াশোনার কাজে ব্যবহার করা কাঠের
স্কেলের কোথায় আগে মাথায় আসবে। কোনো জায়গার মোট পরিমাপ মানে ক্ষেত্রফল
বোঝাতে বর্গফুট বা বর্গমিটার ইত্যাদি এককই বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়, আর তাই এগুলো
নিয়েও আমাদের কিছুটা ধারণা আছে। কিন্তু বিঘা, কাঠা এগুলো দিয়ে সাধারনত বড়
জায়গা পরিমাপ করা হয়, তাই এক বিঘা জমি বলতে কত বর্গফুট জমি বোঝায় সেটা
জানতে পারলে জায়গাটার পরিমাপ সম্পর্কে কিছুটা ধারণা করা যায়।
বোঝার সুবিধার্থে নীচে জমি পরিমাপের বিভিন্ন এককের তুলনা করা হল,
বিভিন্ন এককে জমির পরিমাপ হিসাব করতে (অর্থাৎ বিঘা থেকে কাঠা বা কাঠা থেকে শতক ইত্যাদি) নিচের লিঙ্কে ক্লিক করুন

জমির পরিমাপ
১ একর = ১০০ শতক
১ বিঘা = ৩৩ শতক
১ কাঠা = ১.৬৫ শতক
১ বিঘা = ২০ কাঠা
১ শতক = ৪৩৫.৬ বর্গফুট (sq.ft.)
১ কাঠা = ৭২০ বর্গফুট (sq.ft.)
১ বিঘা = ১৪৪০০ বর্গফুট (sq.ft.)
সহজ উপায়
১ একর = ৩ বিঘা = ৬০.৫ কাঠা = ১০০ শতক
১ বিঘা = ২০ কাঠা = ৩৩ শতক = ১৪৪০০ বর্গফুট
১ কাঠা = ১.৬৫ শতক = ৭২০ বর্গফুট = ১৬ ছটাক
১ কাঠা = ৪৫ বর্গফুট = ২০ গন্ডা
